Petroleum Geologist

Reba Masterson: No nonsense. No excuses. No relinquishing your mineral rights.

If you need some hard-nosed inspiration, look no further than Reba. As one of the first female petroleum geologists in this country, Reba worked in the oil and gas industry when most companies did not allow women to work on the oilfields. During the 1900s “gusher age” in Texas oil, Reba put her geology degree from the University of Texas to use as an independent geologist. Reba traveled in her Ford Model T across Texas and Colorado scouting out shares in oil and gas leases, showing up at new oil wells and strategically offering her geological expertise in exchange for mineral rights, frequently wearing her mink stole and always packing a pistol in her purse.

What She’s Made Of:

Reba is made from vintage petroleum engineer notes, oil well production reports, acrylic, ink, and resin.
